Yomp Ruck Hybrid Series
SERIES 01 · VIRTUAL · FROM 2 NOVEMBER
One last challenge to close out 2026. Four sessions. One patch. Earn it before Christmas.
The YOMP Hybrid Ruck Series is a four-week virtual ruck challenge that starts on Monday 2 November. It is built in the UK, open to ruckers in the UK, Europe and the US, and it asks more of you than distance alone. You carry the weight, you lift it, and you keep moving with it. Then you log the result against everyone else on one league table.
A new kind of ruck challenge for the UK
Rucking in the UK has grown fast. Clubs meet every weekend, more people are swapping a run for a loaded walk, and hybrid athletes are finding out what a pack on their back does to a session. What the UK ruck community hasn't had is a competition that brings all of that together and runs it on a league table anyone can enter from home.
That is what this series is for. It is a hybrid ruck challenge: three sessions built on distance, one built on work under load, and one standard for everyone who enters. No venue, no start line, no travel. You do each session in your own time, on your own ground, within that week's window.
The four sessions
Loads shown men / women. Each session opens on a Monday and closes the following Sunday at midnight.

- Mile 2: ruck only
- Mile 3: no load
WEEK 02 · 9–15 NOV · FOR TIME
Conditioned Commando

WEEK 03 · 16–22 NOV · 20-MIN AMRAP
The Grinder
- 100m ruck
- 15 sandbag burpees (50lb / 30lb)
- 10 ruck lunges
- 5 ruck press-ups
- 100m ruck
Ruck on the whole time (30lb / 20lb). Score is rounds plus reps. A treadmill or measured gym sled track is allowed for the 100m.
WEEK 04 · 23 NOV – 6 DEC · FINALE
The 12 Miler
12 MI
45lb / 30lb, inside 4 hours 30. Two weekends to get it done. This is the session that earns the patch.
One standard. No scaling.
Every entrant carries the same prescribed loads, men and women each on their own standard. There is no scaled division in Series 01. It keeps the league table honest, and it means the patch stands for the same thing on every pack that wears it.
Prizes, the table and the patch
THE PATCH
Everyone who completes all four sessions at the prescribed loads earns the YOMP Hybrid Ruck Series patch, posted the week after the final deadline.
PRIZES
The top finishers in the men's and women's tables win prizes.
THE LEAGUE TABLE
Each session is ranked, points are awarded by placing, and the overall standings are the total across all four. Final submissions are due by Monday 7 December.
How proof works
This series runs on honesty and integrity. Each week you submit your time or score, a screenshot or link from your watch or app, and one weigh-in photo of your kit. Week 3 also needs a video of the full 20 minutes. The top 5 in each table are checked before results and prizes are confirmed, along with random spot checks across the field.
Use any kit. This is for the whole rucking community.
You don't need YOMP gear to enter, and we will never set a competition that says you must. Any rucksack that carries the weight, any plates, any sandbag or heavy-duty bag filled to the right load. If your club rucks together on a Saturday, enter together and push each other up the table.
UK, US and European entries welcome
The series is virtual, so where you ruck doesn't matter. Entries from the US and Europe are welcome and encouraged. Loads are set in pounds; in kilos that is roughly 23kg / 14kg for the sandbag, 14kg / 9kg for the ruck, and 20kg / 14kg for the 12 Miler. Overseas patches are posted at the same time and take up to 7 days to arrive.
SERIES 01
The start of something bigger
This first series is the test run for a much larger YOMP competition in 2027. The people who enter now help shape what comes next, and they'll be the first to hear about it. Get in at the start, then help us spread the word: tag your training partners, share the series with your ruck club, and bring someone with you.
