I bought this on the advice of my brother him already owning one.I wanted to get fit but the gym isn’t for me…and having read about the benefits of walking with weight (Michael Easter-The Comfort Crisis) it was an easy decision.
The pack is well thought out in its design and what it’s for.It feels secure and comfortable when on.I thought I may of sweated but it remained cool on my back for 6 hours .
It’s also super tough and I don’t envisage needing another one.The compartments that hold the weight are positioned close so you don’t feel that awkward pulling which could cause injury.
It’s a pack that will last forever, get you fit and looks very cool.
I don't normally get excited about a backpack, but the YOMP Y-CO 1 genuinely surprised me.
I deliberately avoided reading every feature before it arrived because I wanted some of it to be a surprise, and I'm glad I did. The photos and feature list don't really show just how much thought has gone into this pack.
The quick-release shoulder straps alone are a game changer. Anyone who has ever finished a heavy ruck and just wanted the weight off immediately will understand. Instead of wrestling a loaded pack off your shoulders, it's literally click, click, done. Such a simple feature, but incredibly well thought out.
I've only done a test fit so far, but even straight out of the box with the straps still stiff, it felt noticeably better than the backpack I've been using previously. The comfort, build quality and attention to detail are obvious straight away.
Apparently I've received one of the newer versions, and if that's the case, people with the older model are going to lose their minds when they see all the extra features packed into this one.
As a bonus, even the UPS driver delivering it was interested enough to ask about it after seeing the box. I ended up showing him the website and explaining what it was. That's how impressed I was before I'd even used it.
Well worth the wait. Fantastic product, fantastic design, and I honestly didn't realise a grown man could get this excited about a weighted backpack.
Looking forward to putting some serious miles on it.
First class kit ….sturdy beyond belief. Comfortable to carry well made …great customer service. Got the YCO-3 in black with 30lbs weight plate. Quality in the make of the bag is exceptional. No hesitation recommending this company to anyone who wants serious kit that works and is quality.
From start to finish the customer care has been spot on. I have upgraded from another similar company making bags and this is brilliant!!!
The bag is such that I can use it for every day use as well as training and I’m considering taking it out into the hills. The make and finish are top quality.

If not picking, it took longer than I would have wanted to arrive (I am incredibly impatient though!) and the waist belt doesn’t quite stay tensioned, this may be because it’s new however it may be thin webbing. I say this being hyper critical of an otherwise great bag that also looks good too (because we are all about the aesthetic!!)

Comfortable on the shoulders whilst weighted and easy to adjust.
Hard wearing and robust into the bargain.

If you are looking for a ruck either to start ruck racing, for DEKA or just for hiking then I highly recommend these guys.

This pack is brilliant I tried a weighted vest during covid then used a 5kg plate wrapped in a towel but slams on the back. Then I seen the yomp while searching and honestly I dont feel no movement at all and increased my weight to 9kg and 13.5kg depending on which jog im doing
The plate pockets are perfect for my oversized iPad or small laptop and then on a ruck can swap them out for ruck plates. The water bottle holders at the top on the inside work really well for water or to leave a phone on charge and the whole bag opens up to be able to look deep at the bottom. Such a great bag and looks classy too! Service is top notch bag arrived quickly and fast communication. I am a fan.
I've plenty of packs of all uses and sizes. This is far and away my favourite.
You can really see all the thought that has gone into the design of the pack. The placement of the pockets, the bright orange liners in the internal pockets to allow you to see your gear. Everything just works.
It is super comfortable. Whether that is with or without the weight plates. I've used mine extensively with the 30lb plate so far and have had zero issues with rubbing or anything of that sort.
The new hip belt system is really effective. Once you know what you're doing, adding or ditching the hip belts as needed is quick and easy. But they feel extremely secure whilst in place.
And it looks damned good too.
This has become my day to day pack, my exercise pack, travel pack and hiking pack. I used to switch between rucks regularly. The rest of my collection are currently tucked away under the bed.
Looking forwards to continuing to put it through it's paces.

Spend less time trying to make weight by filling your daysack with all sorts of stuff. Just pick this up with a plate or two and off you go.
I would have liked a bit more padding on the shoulders but still has decent support.
I used to ruck with a previous backpack I owned, from a specialized rucking hardware manufacturer, though more EDC related.
The Y-CO1 is cheaper and way more suitable. It enabled me to go from 20lb to 30lb weight plate while gaining more comfort.
Build quality is perfect. Hardware used is excellent.
My only regret is not buying it sooner (and the lack of a separate laptop compartment for everyday commute)

I have never used ruck plates before so this was a completely new set up, but on my 2nd ruck with the Yomp Y-Co1 I used a 30lb ruck plate and had no discomfort or concerns.
It didn't take much figuring out to make suit me. Just drop in the plate.
I even improved my pace by about 30sec/ml on the 3ml route 🤔 was it the pack?
As with every pack I have owned, I have to pull the shoulder straps tight a couple of times on a 3 mile yomp, I use extra clips to reduce that as I like them tight 😅
Great backpack! Been on a few hikes with it recently, feels comfy on my back, has a pocket for weight so there’s no movement. Lots of room to carry other things too. It’s made my hikes more challenging which is what I wanted. Would recommend!
Really recommended the ruck pack from Yomp. The weight sits perfectly and is well secured. The pack is comfortable and stable, well made and strong.
The backpack is eveything you need for your everyday pack, built to last, 30l so plenty of space with plenty of compartments to put your things in where they need to be!
Purchased a YOMP Cap. The price was very reasonable. The service and delivery was excellent. The cap fits very well and looks good when it’s on. Keeps the sun out of my eyes and allows my head to keep cooler when I yomp. Very happy customer and can recommend highly
