I am happy with the product. Took a little while to adjust it properly but the more I use it the more comfortable it gets. I'm only 5ft 2in and this bag sits comfortably on my back. I am new to rucking so just carrying a small weight on my 1 mile walk to and from the gym. Will do some longer walks soon. I used it to take my laptop to work and that was good. Pretty happy with it all round.
The quality on this bag is top notch, so no worries there. I have been using it for evening walks of 3-5km, after tea. Sometimes on rest days, when I am not supposed to be running, I get a bit restless, so this is great. It's nice and steady excercise and doesn't feel like I've done a hard run, but feels somewhere in between running and weight training after. You feel like you've done a whole body excercise. Love it. Going to use it for commuting too, and then I might work up to longer hikes or yomps.
I have not had time to use it, but it looks fantastic.
good fit, holds a plate well, and there's still space for a water bottle and set of clothes. Great quality feel and print. Comfortable straps. Good communication from the company, took about 10 days from order to delivery
I was looking for a backpack that offers good back support and can regularly carry a moderate load of up to 20 kg (44 lbs) while rucking. I also wanted an attractive design, well-thought-out features, and a fair price.
Ultimately, I chose the YOMP Y-CO 1 because it meets these requirements quite well. After testing it during my first rucking sessions - which lasted one to one and a half hours with a load of 9 kg (10 lbs) - I’m quite satisfied with how it performs. The handles around the backpack are handy for carrying the weight or doing warm-up exercises. The shoulder straps are well-padded, but they still leave quite a few “scratch marks” on my shoulders, especially when I’m wearing a light T-shirt on warm summer days. The hip belt stabilizes the backpack well and prevents it from swaying back and forth on my back when I pick up the pace. It’s worth noticing, however, that this isn’t a conventional hip belt that shifts the weight to the pelvis - the weight rests entirely on the shoulders!
The build quality seems exceptionally good. There are two inner pockets arranged one behind the other for weight plates. However, when I put my 10-pound weight plate (Yes4All XY59) into the larger pocket, it’s still a bit too small, meaning I can’t close the pocket flap at all.
Also, I haven't used it as a regular daypack yet. But I think it'll work just as well!
Big fan of the Yomp Y-CO1! It's very comfortable even with heavy weights, practical and robust. For smaller weight plates, stabilizing the plate in the plate-compartment requires some stuffing, for example with a towel. I really like it!
Very well constructed bag with a triple Velcro filling point. Handles are comfortable and the additional carry straps can double as a handle for farmers carries etc
I bought this backpack after doing a 50 mile hike for a dogs charity last Christmas with 25lb of weight.I used rice and water to get the wait up in my hiking rucksack.
It was hard work so started looking at Rucking to train for it again this year.
OMG what a difference in carrying the same weight.The Yomp co3 is perfect for me .
Distributes the weight evenly so I now know that I will beat my time from last year .
Also brilliant as a carry on luggage when you go abroad.
I can’t fault it really and yes I would recommend it .
It fits perfectly in my Yomp backpack. The weights nice and high on my back and doesn’t move around. I’m new to this so bought 10 and 20 plates. Just using the 10 at the moment. Really noticing the physical benefits, stronger legs, better posture and great for fat burning.
Have just started adding rucking to my fitness regime and am starting to feel the benefits of a weighted walk.
It's a bit hot given the current extreme weather but I'll be keeping at it a couple of times week to complement my other activities.
After buying the yomp ruck, I also got a black cap. It was my fav so had to come back for the black/olive to mix it up a bit. Also got a T shirt and it's all quality gear and they all fit me perfectly. Really rate this brand, well worth the money.
I bought this on the advice of my brother him already owning one.I wanted to get fit but the gym isn’t for me…and having read about the benefits of walking with weight (Michael Easter-The Comfort Crisis) it was an easy decision.
The pack is well thought out in its design and what it’s for.It feels secure and comfortable when on.I thought I may of sweated but it remained cool on my back for 6 hours .
It’s also super tough and I don’t envisage needing another one.The compartments that hold the weight are positioned close so you don’t feel that awkward pulling which could cause injury.
It’s a pack that will last forever, get you fit and looks very cool.
I don't normally get excited about a backpack, but the YOMP Y-CO 1 genuinely surprised me.
I deliberately avoided reading every feature before it arrived because I wanted some of it to be a surprise, and I'm glad I did. The photos and feature list don't really show just how much thought has gone into this pack.
The quick-release shoulder straps alone are a game changer. Anyone who has ever finished a heavy ruck and just wanted the weight off immediately will understand. Instead of wrestling a loaded pack off your shoulders, it's literally click, click, done. Such a simple feature, but incredibly well thought out.
I've only done a test fit so far, but even straight out of the box with the straps still stiff, it felt noticeably better than the backpack I've been using previously. The comfort, build quality and attention to detail are obvious straight away.
Apparently I've received one of the newer versions, and if that's the case, people with the older model are going to lose their minds when they see all the extra features packed into this one.
As a bonus, even the UPS driver delivering it was interested enough to ask about it after seeing the box. I ended up showing him the website and explaining what it was. That's how impressed I was before I'd even used it.
Well worth the wait. Fantastic product, fantastic design, and I honestly didn't realise a grown man could get this excited about a weighted backpack.
Looking forward to putting some serious miles on it.
First class kit ….sturdy beyond belief. Comfortable to carry well made …great customer service. Got the YCO-3 in black with 30lbs weight plate. Quality in the make of the bag is exceptional. No hesitation recommending this company to anyone who wants serious kit that works and is quality.
From start to finish the customer care has been spot on. I have upgraded from another similar company making bags and this is brilliant!!!
The bag is such that I can use it for every day use as well as training and I’m considering taking it out into the hills. The make and finish are top quality.

If not picking, it took longer than I would have wanted to arrive (I am incredibly impatient though!) and the waist belt doesn’t quite stay tensioned, this may be because it’s new however it may be thin webbing. I say this being hyper critical of an otherwise great bag that also looks good too (because we are all about the aesthetic!!)

If you are looking for a ruck either to start ruck racing, for DEKA or just for hiking then I highly recommend these guys.

This pack is brilliant I tried a weighted vest during covid then used a 5kg plate wrapped in a towel but slams on the back. Then I seen the yomp while searching and honestly I dont feel no movement at all and increased my weight to 9kg and 13.5kg depending on which jog im doing
The plate pockets are perfect for my oversized iPad or small laptop and then on a ruck can swap them out for ruck plates. The water bottle holders at the top on the inside work really well for water or to leave a phone on charge and the whole bag opens up to be able to look deep at the bottom. Such a great bag and looks classy too! Service is top notch bag arrived quickly and fast communication. I am a fan.
I've plenty of packs of all uses and sizes. This is far and away my favourite.
You can really see all the thought that has gone into the design of the pack. The placement of the pockets, the bright orange liners in the internal pockets to allow you to see your gear. Everything just works.
It is super comfortable. Whether that is with or without the weight plates. I've used mine extensively with the 30lb plate so far and have had zero issues with rubbing or anything of that sort.
The new hip belt system is really effective. Once you know what you're doing, adding or ditching the hip belts as needed is quick and easy. But they feel extremely secure whilst in place.
And it looks damned good too.
This has become my day to day pack, my exercise pack, travel pack and hiking pack. I used to switch between rucks regularly. The rest of my collection are currently tucked away under the bed.
