During the 2021 Lock-down, with many gyms closed and feeling lost without fitness as we came to know it, we looked for alternatives; Reverting to our roots, what was simpler than a good Yomp! With only the requirement for a backpack and some weight, we knew we could plan and execute a workout that could be the challenge we needed to keep the mind and body active during these troubling times.
Thereβs not always the need to reinvent the wheel β the military has used loaded/ weighted carries for many decades. It is a skill at the core of their strength and conditioning program; Simulating, and preparing military personnel for potential touch and laborious tactical advances.
With all of the many different ways you can train today β We love the simplicity of this. Anyone can do it. Scale to your level with varying distances, weights, and pacesβ¦build from there. Yomping not only increases your cardiovascular ability but also allows you to retain and build muscle.
