The Women's Rucking Backpack Built for a Shorter Frame
Our female customers didn't ask for just a smaller pack. They asked for one that sat right. The Y-CO 1 WF is a rebuilt carry system on a 16.5" back length, built for rucking and yomping under real load - same 1000D Cordura, same standard, better fit if needed.
✅ Integrated Lumbar Hip Belt
Wraps through the lumbar panel to pull load off the shoulders and drive it into the hips. Fully removable.
✅ Shorter 16.5" Back Length
Reduced height so the pack sits properly on a shorter torso instead of riding above it.
✅ Full Mesh Contact Surfaces
Heavyweight mesh back panel and strap linings for direct, breathable skin contact under load.
✅ 1000D Cordura Construction
Abrasion-resistant fabric built to withstand sustained load and tough conditions.
The Rucking Backpack Built for a Shorter Frame
The Y-CO 1 WF is the Y-CO 1 rebuilt around a smaller back length, not a resized version of the same pack. Every contact point has been reworked: a 16.5" back panel that sits where it should, a shortened hip belt with full adjustment range, and heavyweight mesh across the back panel and strap interiors. Designed and tested in the UK, constructed from the same 1000D Cordura, and held to the same standard as every pack we build.
The Hip Belt Is the Difference
Most packs bolt the hip belt on. On the Y-CO 1 WF it's integrated directly into the lumbar panel, so the belt and the pack work as one structure - a closer wrap around the hips, less shoulder loading, and better weight transfer through the pelvis over distance. The belt is shortened for a smaller waist with plenty of adjustment remaining, and it's still fully removable when you want to run light.

Which Back Length Do You Need?
The Y-CO 1 WF has a 16.5" back length. The standard Y-CO 1 is 18".
Plenty of female ruckers train in the standard Y-CO 1 and always have - if you're around 5'7" or taller, it's likely the right pack for you and there's no reason to size down. The WF exists for anyone whose back length means the standard pack rides high, sits below the hips, and loads the shoulders fully instead of the pelvis. That's a fit problem.
Height is a rough guide. Back length is the real measure, and it varies between people of the same height. To check yours:
Find the bony bump at the base of your neck where it meets your shoulders - tilt your head forward and it's the one that sticks out most. Put your hands on your hips with thumbs pointing back, and feel for the top of your hip bones. Measure the distance between those two points down the line of your spine.
16" – 18": Y-CO 1 WF
18" and above: Standard Y-CO 1
If you land right on 18", either will work - the WF will feel more wrapped through the hips, the standard gives you more pack volume.
